1

Remove the top plate and confirm the integrated certified safety-barrier screens on the front door and side glass are in place — they must stay installed. Review all requirements first.

2

Rear 1½", sides 10", corner 5⅝", ceiling 43". Approved directly on combustible floors — no hearth pad required — but never on thick carpet or foam, which lets the stove settle and can leak the vent. Alcove min 44"W × 24"D × 60"H.

3

Ships for natural gas. For propane, convert with kit 158329 — swap to the #52 burner orifice and the .013" LP pilot injector, and fit the LP regulator tower. Authorized technician only.

4

Vertical or horizontal coaxial (4" inner / 6⅝" outer). Use one approved brand only — DuraVent DirectVent Pro and listed equivalents — never mixed. Seal the inner pipe with a 1/8" bead of high-temp cement (no silicone). Horizontal: ≤30 ft vertical and ≤20 ft horizontal, with a 12" rise and 6" run minimum. Set the exhaust restrictor plate per the vent matrix.

5

3/8" NPT supply (about 12" off the rear centerline) with a manual shut-off (T-handle in MA) and union in the same room. Leak-test every joint. Verify inlet and manifold pressure with the knob on HIGH at the A (manifold) and B (inlet) ports.

6

Install the Beach Fire log set and rock-wool embers; add the optional reflective or fluted liner and ash lip if used. Wear gloves and keep embers clear of the pilot.

7

Provide a grounded outlet within 6 ft of the vent centerline. Fit the optional blower kit; wire a 750 mV remote or thermostat to the terminal block right of the valve. Set the rear switch to T-STAT for thermostatic or remote control.

8

Purge the line on first light and, from cold, let the pilot burn 10–15 minutes to build draft before the burner. The pilot should engulf the top 1/8" of the thermocouple and thermopile. Tune the air shutter (factory NG 1/16", LP 1/8") for a clean flame with no soot.

Gas pressure faults

⚠ Insufficient pressure

  • Small pilot flame → weak millivolt signal and burner outages
  • Little change in flame between HI and LO on the regulator knob
  • Undersized supply feeding several appliances → nuisance dropouts or surges

⚠ Excessive pressure

  • Permanent valve damage → full appliance shutdown
  • Oversized pilot flame overheats the sensor → shutdown
  • Sooting and white residue from flame impingement / wrong fuel-air mix
